D2L Service Restored

D2L is again available to all UW users.

From Peter Mann with the D2L Utility at UW-Madison:

A post-outage review will be conducted focusing on the events that transpired. We believe that a lightning strike or power surge caused critical damage to the Data Center Universal Power Supply (UPS) during a significant storm that hit the campus [Wednesday] morning. The system is architected to fail over to live power, but it failed to do so. The reason that this didn’t happen as expected is unknown at this point.
