Resolution:

Apple and HP has resolved the problem and updated security information is currently being distributed directly from Apple. If you continue to have problems, please contact the LTS Help Desk at 715-836-4091.

Original message:

A problem has been identified which causes macOS computers to produce errors when sending print jobs to HP printers. This is due to a problem with the macOS security framework incorrectly identifying HP printer drivers as malware. This may trigger an error message identifying the software as a security risk, not allow the print job to leave the printer queue, and/or simply result in the print job not actually printing. We're currently waiting on a solution from Apple. In the meantime, printing is still available to all FollowMe printers and department copiers. If you need emergency assistance, please contact the LTS Help Desk at 715-836-4091 or helpdesk@uwec.edu.
