Resolution:

LTS Technical Services was able to develop our own workaround to the iOS and iPadOS 17 FollowMe printing issue. It is important to note we are unable to distribute this workaround to the Pablo Center or our Marshfield locations. Users will see an additional set of FollowMe print queues that end with ios17 they can use. These function just like the originals. LTS cannot guarantee the stability of this workaround but are confident it will hold until Apple releases iOS and iPadOS 17.2 at the end of the month. The beta versions of 17.2 appear to correct changes Apple made within their initial release of 17 that created this issue. This was never an issue with PaperCut. Once LTS has verified the new version of the OS corrects the issue, we will remove queues with ios17 in the name. The upcoming OS release should also make printing available at Pablo Center and Marshfield functional again. If you encounter any issues, please email helpdesk@uwec.edu or give them a call at (715) 836-5711.

Original message:

Appleā€™s recent release of iOS 17 for iPhone prevents users from seeing the FollowMe print queues. At this time there is no fix for this issue or a timeline when a fix will be made available from either Apple and/or PaperCut.

If you are an iPhone user that has not upgraded to iOS 17, you may want to wait to do so until this issue is resolved if you print primarily or frequently from your iPhone.

iPadOS 17 may be impacted by this issue, but is yet to be confirmed. Other operating systems do not appear to be impacted by this issue at this time.

You do not need to report this issue to the LTS Help Desk. A follow-up resolution notice for this issue will be posted when a fix is in place.
